Strong is looking for an ambitious, charismatic, and customer service driven individual to add to our Cafe team! The cafe team member is directly responsible for preparing, serving, and meeting our customers needs in a manner that is consistent with Strong's standard of excellence. This is also an evening and weekend specific position so this individual would need to meet specific availability requirements.
Basic expectations:
- Represent Strong Mission Statement at all times: Care, Educate, Inspire
- Knowledgeable on all of Strong membership & product offerings and able to answer any questions from potential new members and members
- Create a personal connection with each member, strive to know each member by name
- Familiar with Strong website and how to use class schedule, all front and back end functionalities that may pertain to member questions and any tasks needed complete assigned duties
- Manage job responsibilities listed or assigned in the future
- Greet every member, potential new member, drop-in and visitors with a smile and
- genuine care
- Professional, Courteous, Enthusiastic attitude at all times
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
- Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
- Preparing foods, such as hot food options, smoothies, and specialty drinks As well as the grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
- Strive to produce the best product possible for café customers.
- Packaging food and beverages for sale.
- Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items and educating customers about brewing methods.
- Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash, and sanitizing
- Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness in the café area.
- Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
- Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
- Working with management & consultants to establish cafe policies & procedures
Daily Operation Expectations:
- Oversees daily operations of Cafe Duties, coordination with team regarding any requirements for events & Birthday Parties
- Have a customer first mentality and strive for excellence in product quality
- Cash Drawer Balance - Monitor all cash handling processes, transfer procedures to online tracking.
- Track product inventory, record loss, and acquire products as needed.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures in regards to the cafe.
- Have a welcoming presence with parents and customers
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cafe area and restrooms needed.
- Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions
- All other duties and tasks assigned by management.
Guest Support
- Consistently meet the Strong standard of excellence for the guest experience (quality of operations) and make suggestions to consistently improve
- Support Strong Services as needed through parties, classes, camps, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Have availability to work 3-4 weekends a month.
- Full Time / Part time positions available
- Experience in a restaurant-based customer service or customer facing environment.
- POS experience
- Experience in food preparation and delivery in a restaurant setting.
- Food Handlers License
- Proficiency in food preparation and health / cleanliness standards

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
