Job Summary:
The Passenger Train Cleaner will perform custodial and fueling duties on passenger trains/locomotives while maintaining compliance with Company policies and established health and safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must have the ability to meet the physical demands of the position (regularly required to stand, walk, climb, or balance; kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms).
- The employee will have regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and a moderate noise level environment.
- The employee must maintain communication with other employees and Supervisors.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cleans passenger train cars (restrooms, fixtures, furniture, floors/carpets, surfaces) and equipment to include replenishing bathroom supplies.
- Discharge toilet storage tanks and adds Micro Bio Toilet Cleaner.
- Washes windows, door panels and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets. And transports trash/waste to disposal area while keeping disposal areas/dumpsters clean and secure.
- Performs Locomotive fueling in safe and efficient manner.
- Read gauges or meters and record fuel quantity added to each unit.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned to include sanitation of watering equipment and maintenance involving facility and service track.
- Maintain communication and report any faulty equipment with supervisor.
- Follow Railroad standards/guidelines for conduct and maintain environmental safety requirements.

- Knowledge and understanding of Company policies and Handbook.
- Must have the ability to understand and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
- The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects related to the job.
- Respond to requests for service and assistance.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Must be able to work from written assignment sheet and sign-off for work that has been completed on printed forms.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to fulfill all required post offer requirements.
- Must have at least one-year general laborer and/or industrial work experience or two years general work experience.
- Prior railroad and/or fueling experience a plus.
