Overview:
Provides routine and preventative cleaning services to restrooms in the Senate Office Buildings in accordance with departmental policies and procedures to include all safety and sanitation policies. This position requires candidate be able to maintain a positive customer focus. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Cleans each restroom fixture in accordance with GGW policies and procedures.
2. Dusts all restroom surfaces including lights, ledges, walls, vents, partitions etc.
3. Gather and empty all trash containers in the restrooms (to include sanitary napkins container).
4. Ability to identify proper supplies and cleaning materials that match to each surface to be cleaned.
5. Clean restroom floors by sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning and/or scrubbing.
6. Washing and sanitizing walls and other hard surfaces (to include child changing stations).
7. Ensure restrooms are stocked with all supplies (paper, soap and other supplies).
8. Follows all GGW safety and sanitation policies and procedures while on premises and demonstrates understanding of procedures to avoid cross contamination and proper cleaning technique.
9. Communicates potential hazards, need for supplies, need for repair of broken equipment or policy violations.
10. Ability to interact/project with public in a positive and courteous manner.
11. Ability to navigate through complicated floor layouts to move from point to point in a crowded setting.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Cleans and maintains assigned equipment.
2. Back up general cleaners as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to follow instructions.
2. Ability to decipher/comprehend signs indicating danger.
3. Six months previous cleaning or related experience. Approved custodial training program may substitute for experience.
4. Ability to obtain security clearance to work at assigned work site.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. One year’s previous custodial experience on a federal contract or commercial cleaning site.
