Job Summary
The After-Hours Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment during evening shifts, ensuring that key areas are spotless and ready for the next business day. Responsibilities include loading and unloading the dishwasher, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, vacuuming floors, taking out and emptying trash bins, and wiping down shelves as needed. This part-time position involves working approximately 28 hours per week from Tuesday to Friday, with shifts starting around 6-7 pm.
Essential Functions
- Load and unload the dishwasher to maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including restocking supplies and ensuring all surfaces are thoroughly disinfected.
- Vacuum floors in offices, hallways, and common areas to maintain a clean and dust-free environment.
- Empty and take out trash from various rooms and dispose of it in designated areas.
- Wipe down shelves and surfaces as needed to ensure cleanliness.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and report low inventory to the supervisor.
- Impacts profitability by maintaining a clean, organized environment, the After-Hours Custodian supports higher productivity and operational efficiency, reducing potential downtime due to unsanitary or disorganized conditions .
- Impacts customer experience through the cleanliness of the facility plays a crucial role in creating a positive impression on both employees and visitors.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during after-hours shifts.
- Good time management skills to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, and vacuum operation.
- Ability to lift and move trash bags and cleaning equipment.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
