Custodial/Janitor/Cleaning
The Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas includes 91 Parishes, and 19 schools. It stretches from Quanah, Texas just northwest of Wichita Falls in the West and extends to Penelope, Texas in the Southeast. Its largest metropolitan areas are Fort Worth, Arlington, Denton, and Wichita Falls. The principal duty of all employees is to assist in the mission of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas.
General Position Summary: The custodian will assist in the cleaning of all parish facilities (church, meeting rooms, parish life center, grounds, and offices).
Principal Accountabilities:
- Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition.
- Perform heavy cleaning duties.
- Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
- Clean restrooms restock paper and soap supplies.
- Clean windows, mirrors.
- Empty trash receptacles and bag trash for proper disposal.
- Dust furniture, walls and equipment.
- Lock doors after cleaning areas.
- Maintain the grounds.
- Small repairs as needed.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for all other projects, tasks, etc., as assigned.

Education and Experience Preferred:
- Previous experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Work well with others and independently.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to stand, walk and bend for many hours.
- Understand verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
- Ability to safely use cleaning supplies.
- Must be certified through Safe Environment training or be willing to do so.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- This position works in a typical office environment, but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding business needs, tight deadlines and heavy workloads.
- Requires lifting and bending.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
