As the Sanitation Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the sanitation team to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment in the facility. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising all sanitation activities to maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety. You must be a hands-on leader who is willing to jump in and help the team when necessary. The Sanitation Supervisor ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate sanitation staff.
- Schedule shifts and assign tasks to team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings and safety briefings.
- Sanitation Operations:
- Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of the facility, including warehouse, work areas, and common spaces.
- Develop and implement sanitation schedules and procedures.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of sanitation equipment and chemicals.
- Conduct inspections to verify sanitation standards are met.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all sanitation-related regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for sanitation activities
- Participate in audits and inspections, addressing any findings promptly.
- Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations.
- Safety and Training:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect employees from injuries and exposure to hazardous materials.
- Provide ongoing training to sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety practices.
- Investigate and report incidents or accidents promptly.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in sanitation processes and practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall facility hygiene and efficiency.
- Develop and implement process improvements to achieve higher sanitation standards.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sanitation or a related field.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Nice to Haves:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience with BRC paperwork and compliance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Exposure to cold spaces and moderate noise levels.
Work Environment:
- Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
