JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing assigned leadership, lawn maintenance, and custodial duties at an I-4 Department of Transportation Rest Area Facility in an efficient and effective manner with minimal supervision.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.
- Oversee the activities of the lawn maintenance and custodial staff to ensure accomplishment of daily activities.
- Ensure quality assurance standards are met via inspections.
- Provide on-going training to custodial and lawn maintenance employees.
- Understand contract requirements as it relates to their position.
- Maintain supplies and equipment under established procedures.
- Answer housekeeping calls and other specified housekeeping tasks as required.
- Maintain budgets, develop schedules, and ensure reports are timely.
- Perform and submit front end payroll activities while making edits and corrections as needed.
- Answer calls or travel to worksite as needed during off duty hours when emergencies arise.
- Perform miscellaneous maintenance and other tasks as required.
- Other duties may include lawn maintenance, cleaning restrooms and other areas at the Rest Stop as needed, removal/disposal of trash; dusting and sweeping; glass cleaning; and restocking paper and soap supplies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Oversee lawn maintenance and custodial staff to ensure accomplishment of daily activities.
- Interview, select and retain employees for job site.
- Schedule employees to the required workload
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- One year of supervising responsibility.
- Two years of custodial or comparable experience.
- Must maintain a valid, state driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and appropriate insurance.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of supervising responsibility.
- Three years of custodial or comparable experience.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
- Company vehicles must be properly maintained, operated safely and be in full compliance with BAC’s safety program.

- Must be able to work a varied schedule (e.g., evenings, weekends, holidays and/or on short notice) as needed.
TRAVEL:
Occasional day travel to Corporate office in Rockledge, Florida.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following: repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving up to 40 pounds. These requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodations.
SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working conditions are predominantly at the Rest Area Facility, outdoors and may be exposed to inclement weather or indoors in areas that are not air conditioned.
- Infrequently involves office work.
- Will need to use any personal protective (safety) equipment as designated properly and consistently.
- Involves exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., cleaning solutions and bio-waste hazards). Hepatitis inoculation recommended and provided without cost to incumbent. In accordance with OSHA standards, training will be provided prior to the initial assignment to tasks where these exposures may occur.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
Availability: Full Time
Salary: 20.16/HR
