Specific Duties:
As a Custodian Floor Technician II, your role involves specialized tasks related to floor care and maintenance. Here are some key aspects of the job:
Floor Care and Cleaning:
- You use specialized equipment and chemicals to clean, repair, and refinish floors.
- Tasks include waxing, buffing, and maintaining hard surfaces.
- You may also vacuum or shampoo carpeted areas.
Work Environment:
- You can work for cleaning services or as part of the custodial staff in public buildings, long-term care centers, hospitals, or similar facilities.
- Your responsibilities extend to various types of flooring, including tile, hardwood, and carpet.
Stripping and Refinishing: You perform more complex restoration tasks, such as stripping and finishing floors (both elastic and non-elastic).
Carpet Extraction: You handle carpet cleaning using extraction methods.
Disinfection: You contribute to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
Skills and Qualities:
- Attention to detail: Ensuring floors are spotless and well-maintained.
- Knowledge of floor care products and equipment.
- Physical stamina: The job involves standing, bending, and lifting.
