Job Description Summary
The 2nd shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the management of the site account. Specific responsibilities include work-scheduling of all shift personnel, establishing work standards in conjunction with the Manager, conducting daily site evaluations/audits/inspections, overall inventory/equipment usage, budget control, employee evaluations, troubleshooting/problem solving, orientation/safety training personnel, customer relations, payroll (time sheets, check distribution) and special project work as requested.
SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday + Weekends & Holidays**
3PM to Midnight (1 hour break) Hourly
Full -time - Non-Union Position - $27 per hour
Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of personnel within the shift and assigned buildings. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable State and Federal laws.
- Communicate daily with the 1st shift Supervisors and assists in managing the daily overall activities of all 2nd shift projects and supervise the Project crew.
- Coordinate services activities for assigned buildings. Ensure that services are performed as contracted and meet the customer specifications.
- Supervises, schedules, and assigns the cleaning staff in the daily interior cleaning of the buildings which includes emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, cleaning restrooms, washing walls, polishing, mopping floors, cleaning up spills, cleaning windows and window coverings, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
- Assigns tasks and perform daily inspections to verify that work has been completed properly, issue supplies and equipment, and conduct inventory of materials to ensure that an adequate amount of supplies are always present.
- Conduct or assist with the screening and hiring of job applicants, training new and experienced employees, conduct performance reviews, and make recommendations to management on promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
- Maintain/monitor work schedules and key sets of all shift personnel, including the preparation and submission of weekly payroll changes/updates.
- Provide daily/monthly reports to track projects, staffing changes, employee key set changes/updates, supply usage/stock and equipment inventory.
- Conduct daily inspections of the Hospital provided vehicles (F-150 white trash truck, black Ford cargo van,White Ford cargo van and the white Ford passenger van and report any damages or issues.
- Conduct weekly inspections of all janitors’ closets to verify that all tools, equipment, J-Fill machines, chemicals and paper supplies are accounted for and in good working condition.
- Expected to promptly respond to and notify management of spills and emergency situations, need for major and minor building/facility repairs, lights that are out or broken, broken equipment and fixtures, damaged structures, ruptured pipes/plumbing, problems with heating/cooling and ventilation, and any other observable safety issues/concerns.
- Expected to ensure the proper and safely operation (including training) of cleaning equipment, tools, devices, chemical/cleaning agents including mops, vacuums, electric polishing machines, power tools and equipment, and special cleaning solutions in order to efficiently perform the duties and to avoid harming floors, fixtures, individuals, and building staff.
- Assist with Snow removal services when required.
- Utilize Radio and /or Beeper to receive and transmit daily communications, assist with cleaning body spills, floods and all additional client request.
Take initiative in rendering services and responding to needs. Collaborate with other Supervisors to achieve goals. Honor C&W SERVICES staff attendance, break, behavior, dress and safety codes.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Bi-lingual required (Spanish and English), must be able to read and write in both languages.
- Must have a valid MA Driver’s license. REQUIRED FOR POSITION.
- Must be able to use a computer.
- Understand oral instructions and follow printed label instructions in English.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, supply and chemical usage, and the operation of manual and power equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, bend, crouch, lift, reach and stretch throughout the work day.
- Push, pull, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally lifting items weighing approximately 30 pounds.
- Interpersonal skills to exchange information courteously with patients, visitors, or office staff.
- Must be flexible and able to work Holidays, weekends, overnights and emergencies depending on operational needs.
