Job Description
Our Exterior Aircraft Cleaner is responsible for the thorough cleaning and maintenance of aircraft exteriors. This role involves using specialized cleaning agents and equipment to wash, wax, and polish the aircraft, ensuring they meet both aesthetic and safety standards. The cleaner must adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, working efficiently to minimize ground time while maintaining attention to detail. Additionally, you may be required to inspect the aircraft for any surface damage or wear during cleaning and report any findings to maintenance personnel, playing a crucial role in the overall upkeep and presentation of the aircraft fleet.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS AN EXTERIOR AIRCRAFT CLEANER
- You like working as a team, toward a common goal
- Wash and clean the exterior of aircrafts, including fuselage, wings, and tail
- Use specialized cleaning agents and equipment to remove dirt, grease, and stains
- Inspect the aircraft's exterior for any damage or maintenance issues and report findings
- Follow all safety protocols while working at heights and around aircraft
- Coordinate with ground crew and maintenance staff for aircraft positioning and safety
- Comply with environmental regulations regarding the use and disposal of cleaning solvents and fluids
- You have a great attention to detail
- You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks
- Like to build long term relationships with your customers
- Physical activity may include:
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
- Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
- 1 Year of Customer Service
- 1 Year of cleaning or maintenance experience
- Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
