Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA)
Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.
Position Title: Housekeeper/Custodian
Location: Marion County
Reports To: Shelter Manager
Major Function: To maintain a clean and sanitary facility for survivors, their children, and staff.
Illustrative Duties:
· Perform general cleaning assignments in residential rooms, restrooms, hallways, common areas, kitchens, laundry area, staff offices, etc.
· Clean and stock rooms with necessary basic needs supplies.
· Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all areas designated for use by participants.
· Perform dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning windows, walls, and ceilings.
· Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area to include refrigerators, freezers, stoves, microwaves, surfaces, cupboards, tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.
· Utilize cleaning chemicals properly and safely and keeps all cleaning chemicals out of the reach of children.
· Keep housekeeping cart clean and organized.
· Clean up spills to prevent safety hazards.
· Take trash out to the dumpster.
· Monitor and keep an inventory level of cleaning supplies, linens, personal care items, and basic needs items.
· Assist in cleaning and maintaining outdoor areas as needed.
· Must be able to work within an empowerment-based service delivery system.
Inform supervisor of any pertinent resident issues, grievances, or concerns.
· Assist with sorting donations and supplies.
· Assist with maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of CASA’s Facilities
· Clean and maintain CASA’s vehicles.
· Minor touch up paint as needed
· Assist with hanging and moving items as needed.
· Stock and replenish hand towels, soap dispensers, and other basic needs items throughout CASA’s properties
Maintain a professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
Complete all other duties as assigned.
General:
· Participate in staff meetings and meetings with your supervisor.
· Understand and abide by CASA’s Policies & procedures.
· Demonstrate a commitment to treat residents, volunteers, and co-workers in a respectful manner at all times.
· Attend and participate in all required training & staff meetings.
· Assist with training and supervision of volunteers as needed.
· Agree to work a flexible schedule when required, which may include changing shifts to ensure 24-hour Shelter coverage, due to illness, absence, or vacation other staff members.
· Complete special projects as requested.

· Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
· Possess the ability to climb stairs, walk kneel, stoop, bend, climb a step-ladder, and lift at least 50 pounds.
· This job position requires moderate physical demands. Duties may include frequent walking, stooping/kneeling/bending, lifting/carrying, and pushing/pulling during work
· Agree to participate in a background check upon offer of employment.
Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds.
All employees of CASA are considered “essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
