``Custodial/Maintenance Worker
Central Catholic High School is currently seeking a custodian for the current academic year. The ideal candidate will take pride in his/her work to maintain and protect our facilities and will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.
Position Summary: This position was established for the purpose of providing custodial services at assigned sites; ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; assisting in preparing facilities for classroom activities and campus events; and achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines, codes, and regulations; and supervising and directing assigned staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, cafeteria, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
● Executes a preventative maintenance program for the purpose of ensuring all school equipment and property is maintained in a safe condition.
● Inspects all aspects of repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently, specifications are within regulatory requirements and inspection reports and payment requests are correct.
● Monitors activities in and around work areas (e.g. halls, multipurpose rooms, lunchroom, restrooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of preventing injuries and ensuring site safety.
● Performs minor, job related, maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures (e.g. change vacuum cleaner belts, bags, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper functioning and usability of items.
● Performs summer maintenance (e.g. strip/wax floors, moves furniture, painting, etc.) for the purpose of completing and/or facilitating summer construction.
● Secures facilities and grounds (e.g. doors, gates, alarms, lights, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and/or potential liability.
● Assists with building security and responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.
● Prepares site for daily operations (e.g. opening gates, raising flags, sweeping walkway, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring facilities are operational and hazard free.
● Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies (e.g. paper towels, soap, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use.
● Supports maintenance staff (e.g. grounds, trades, general maintenance, etc.) for the purpose of completing site custodial activities.
● The principal may assign other duties as necessary.

`Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This is an important role in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for both employees and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine custodial tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished
- Follow established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or fixing minor plumbing issues
- Assist with setting up meeting rooms or event spaces as needed
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and hygiene standards
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects if required
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors
