Janitorial/Maintenance
Summary
This person will be in contact with residents and clientele using the facilities along with various types of vendors and contractors. She/He will be pleasant and friendly with a professional demeanor and appearance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the effective day to day upkeep, maintenance, cleaning of Tennis Center. Weekend cleaning of Fitness center and Community Center offices. 3 Gatehouses 3 times a week. Light maintenance of community parks.
Other Duties
- Routinely walks floors checking for problems and lights out and reports back to supervisor.
- Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
- Maintains working relationship with building staff.
- Painting of all common areas and touch up may be required. Responsible to inspect areas that need paint and advise manager.
- Completes daily work orders as scheduled, along with setting up daily events.
- Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
- Keep, Fitness Center, Restrooms, Meeting Rooms and Administrative Offices clean.
- Dust, vacuum, and mop floors throughout the entire Tennis Center and Fitness Center as well as offices on weekends as necessary.
- Perform light maintenance at all community facilities and parks.
- Follow a janitorial and maintenance schedule.
- Adhere to all safety standards, policies and procedures and reports any unsafe condition.
- Properly performs casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by supervisors and following appropriate safety procedures.
- Performs minor maintenance replacement and repairs in areas of carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs through daily scheduled work orders.
- Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
- Assist in maintenance and repair in areas of carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other minor building repairs as long as a permit is not required to conduct the job.
- Must be able to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned based on needs.
Qualifications
- H.S. Degree / GED
- Pervious maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to meet US employment eligibility requirements.
- Ability to meet Pelican Landing Community Association eligibility requirements.
Physical Demands
- Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to slide heave moveable walls.
- Moderate bending/stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling movements.
- Ability to climb ladders and operating various equipment.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
