DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
TITLE: Housekeeping Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Department Manager, Facilities Director, MOD.
JOB OVERVIEW: Oversees day to day operations within housekeeping. Plans and structures assignments during the day. Ensures proper distribution of supplies to the staff. Monitors the performance of all housekeeping staff on a daily basis in the delivery of safe, thorough, efficient and courteous customer service in order to maintain the high standards of The Gardens Mall.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors all common areas floors, restrooms, seating areas and public entrances.
- Assigns zone assignments and duties to shift staff.
- Perform quality inspections of assigned areas frequently throughout shift.
- Assures the disposal of all trash from the building on a daily basis.
- Working alongside the Maintenance department, monitors the completion of setups and takedowns for mall functions and special events that occur throughout each shift.
*Setups are not complete until the guest services or marketing department gives an all clear or the scheduled function has started.
*Takedowns are not complete until all equipment is returned to its proper location and all trash is removed from the premises.
- After management office hours, daily cleaning of the general areas within the management office and weekend detail cleaning of all offices including spot cleaning of all carpeted areas.
- Monitor completion of community room cleaning and set up daily.
- Daily inspections and cleaning of the Concierge booth and work area.
- Maintain supply stock and cleaning supplies for each storage area. Report any supply needs to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Assist with emergency situations that may arise which may also include covering shifts for employees on vacation or out on sick leave.
- Address any complaints or problems associated with customers or tenants.
- Assist the management office, concierge desk or marketing staff with any projects that may arise.
- Conduct interviews for available positions.
- Assist with inventory.
- Assist with the ordering of supplies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to converse in English with customers and co-workers and answer customers questions.
- Must be able to walk for prolonged periods of time. Up to 80% per shift.
- Must be able to walk up at a minimum four flights of stairs.
- Must be able to lift objects weighing 40 lbs. without assistance.
- Must be able to push and/or pull a hand cart, fully stocked.
- Must be able to bend over and reach as necessary.
- Must be able to climb a 10 – 12’ ladder.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
