We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous maintenance custodian to join our team at The Banner Lake Club Inc. This position is vital to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and order, essential for the effective operation of our facilities. The Maintenance Custodian will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of the premises and performing minor maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our staff and visitors. Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Assist in minor maintenance repairs such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and conducting regular inspections of facilities.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are well maintained and report any shortages or equipment failures to the supervisor.
- Perform routine checks on facility systems and report any concerns related to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to address any special cleaning projects or events that require additional preparation.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling, ensuring compliance with health regulations and environmental standards.
- Respond to cleaning requests from staff to address immediate cleanliness concerns promptly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in custodial and maintenance work, preferably in a nonprofit or institutional setting.
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques and equipment, as well as safety protocols.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve common goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with staff and visitors.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
