Overview
We are seeking 3 dedicated and reliable Custodians to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to providing a safe and clean environment for all occupants. The custodians are responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the building and grounds. The Custodians will perform a variety of cleaning tasks, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and presentable. The custodian is responsible for maintaining tools and equipment in good repair and assuring they are secured at the end of the work schedule.
Performance Responsibilities
- Cleans offices, classrooms, restrooms, corridors, windows, walls, floors, and furniture.
- Uses and operates electric sweepers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, and other equipment.
- Follows usage instructions/dilution ratios of cleaning chemicals and other custodial products.
- Policies grounds and walkways to ensure they are clear of broken glass and other dangerous objects, enures walking areas are free and clear of ice, snow, and that the grounds are nice, neat, and well-kept.
- Informs the Director of Maintenance when supplies or cleaning equipment needs replenishing.
- Informs the Director of Maintenance when maintenance projects beyond their abilities and/or time constraints are needed and anticipated.
- Assures the buildings are locked and equipment is secured.
- Assures that unnecessary heat, a/c , and/or electricity is not utilized.
- Works the last shift during the school year.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
- Collaborate with team members to complete cleaning assignments efficiently.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
Requirements
- Ability to perform basic commercial cleaning (housekeeping) tasks in school/office space.
- Ability to use and operate commercial cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 3 References
- Familiarity with residential painting or porter duties is a plus but not mandatory.
- Pass a background check/Cabinet for Families & Children Child Abuse/Neglect screen (upon offer of employment)
Physical Requirements
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing a 10' ladder, and reaching.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively.
- Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
Job Types: Temporary, Contract
Pay: $13.34 - $13.88 per hour
