POSITION SUMMARY
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within the warehouse facility. This role involves routine cleaning, waste management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Custodians utilize an eye for detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness to perform physical tasks efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure cleanliness throughout the warehouse
- Clean restrooms, break rooms, and office areas regularly
- Wipe down surfaces and equipment to maintain a dust-free environment
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables according to local protocols and expectations
- Maintain waste bins and recycling receptacles, ensuring timely removal and replacement
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Report any safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance requests to leadership
- Monitor and replenish inventory levels of cleaning supplies
- Organize and store cleaning equipment and materials in designated areas
- Assist with setup and cleanup for warehouse events or meetings
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
- Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
- Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
- Abide by all company and warehouse policies
- Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 10 hours/day

- Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs
