POSITION SUMMARY
Fora Health is seeking to fill a full time Custodian at our facility located on SE Cherry Blossom in Portland, Oregon. The Custodian plays a critical role in providing a clean and safe environment for staff and clients at our facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Sanitize rooms with the use of a bleach solution or currently approved chemical and a steam cleaner when appropriate
- Assis with laundry duties for both the Withdrawal Management & Residential units
- Clean dorms, stairways, hallways and other public spaces at all facilities
- Respond to accidents and custodial emergencies as needed
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchen
- Mop floors, halls and stairwells
- Spot clean walls, doors and partitions as needed.
- Stock supplies and refill bathroom dispensers as needed
- Periodic cleaning of the outside of the building including the sidewalk and windows with the use of a pressure washer and window cleaning equipment
- Perform general housekeeping on a regular basis
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist maintenance workers with various tasks that may include moving furniture, light repair work to the facility, painting, use of hand tools that could include drills, saws, hammers, screwdrivers, as needed.
- Additional tasks and duties, as assigned.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Able to identify and perform basic assessment of janitorial issues
- Experience in industrial laundry and custodial services is preferred.
- Able to identify and perform basic assessment of laundry issues
- Ability to communicate in English
- Bi-cultural and bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Working knowledge of in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize responsibilities to ensure that they are completed in a timely manner
- Ability to work collaboratively and promote a healthy and inclusive work environment
- Experience working with pressure washer and steam cleaner is a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Sitting and standing for long periods of time
- Moving from one area of the facility to another
- Bending and kneeling
- Ability to use a step ladder and work overhead
- Identifying clients and staff members
- Lifting and moving up to 75 pounds
- Ascending and descending stairs
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases which can encompass a variety of illnesses and infections, including COVID, tuberculosis, Hepatitis A, B, and C, and HIV.
- Possible exposure to upset, angry, traumatized, disabled or emotionally disturbed adults, adolescents, and families.
- Possible exposure to upset, angry, severely traumatized, or emotionally dysregulated adults, adolescents, and families.
- Working with potentially hazardous chemicals (including painting, cleaning, and landscaping supplies), personal protective equipment provided.
HOURS AND PAY
This is a full time position earning $19.45-20.03 per hour (depending upon experience) for our open day shift schedule for Monday through Friday 7-3:30pm. We are also hiring for our swing shift schedule Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation.

This position is an on-site position at our SE Cherry Blossom location in Portland, Oregon.
