Position Title: Lead Custodian
Supervisor: Director of Facilities
Employment Classification/Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 40 hours/week

Position Overview:
The Lead Custodian is responsible for providing a welcoming and hospitable environment for all; including helping to plan, direct, and coordinate all custodial work; as well as completing planned, and at times unplanned, tasks. Additionally, the Lead Custodian moves furniture and performs other custodial services as directed by the Director of Facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Perform general cleaning for exterior and interior for all church buildings as directed by supervisor including but not limited to the following:
o Cleaning: including gathering and emptying trash; sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming floors; cleaning restrooms and stocking them with supplies
o Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
o Locking doors to secure buildings
o Cleaning spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment
o Washing windows, walls, and glass
o Making minor building repairs
o Notifying supervisor when a building needs major repairs.
o Deep cleaning carpets, stripping and waxing floors.
o Moving furniture: including room set-ups, and for cleaning purposes
o Other custodial duties as assigned
o Exhibit dedication and investment in the mission, vision, and core values of Trinity United Methodist Church
o Assist and perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements:
Required Qualifications
● High School diploma or equivalent; however, significant custodial experience beyond that required for the position may be substituted for required formal education
● Minimum of two years custodial work experience: including knowledge of cleaning procedures (i.e. proper mixture, use and disposal/storage of cleaners and chemicals); and equipment and supplies
● Team player mentality with the ability to lead
● Ability to work independently, is self-directed and self-disciplined
● Must have a valid driver’s license (drivers background check is required for this position)
Preferred Qualifications
● General knowledge and experience with cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies
● Familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) law and regulations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
