Overview:
The Environmental Services Supervisor oversees the housekeeping team to maintain the environment in a clean and functional condition. This position provides a smooth and efficient operation by providing supplies, carts and equipment for functional use. Oversees and assumes responsibility of day, evening, or night shift EVS operations. Supervises employees in daily operations and oversees the technical functions of the department. The supervisor creates staffing schedules, manages call-ins/scheduling requests, and facilitates communication and engagement via huddles with the team. Staff evaluations are initiated and completed by the supervisor following and in collaboration with management review. Scheduled rounds are completed by the supervisor to ensure standards and adherence to acceptable cleaning practices are met. The supervisor actively promotes team building, engagement and professional, effective communications between intra- and inter-departmental co-workers. The EVS Supervisor contributes to effective staffing by performing staff duties to ensure standards and workflow remain uninterrupted.
Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
HS diploma. Requires two years of supervisory/lead experience in a large organization, with one year in Environmental Services required. Prefer three years previous supervisory experience in a healthcare facility. Prior experience must demonstrate the ability to respond to unexpected situations in a calm and productive manner, prioritizing the well-being of patients. Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) credential preferred. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations necessary. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite; experience in EVS software systems preferred. Proven success in leading teams to exceptional outcomes in a complex, fast-paced environment while providing outstanding service is required.
