Amentum is looking for an Industrial Janitor in Richmond, VA for an industrial facility. The Industrial Janitor will be assigned designated areas and will be responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas.
2nd Shift: Typical work hours are Monday-Friday 2:00 PM-10:30 PM. Hours may vary based on business demand.
Hiring Hourly Rate: $17.50/hour.

Daily duties and responsibilities:
- Cleans and maintains assigned buildings/facilities.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
- Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
- Utilizes company software to track completion of assigned tasks.
- Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, spot treating, extracting, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Utilizes ladders; dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds and select equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents.
- Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
- Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications/procedures.
- May be required to strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Gathers trash/recycling and empties in appropriate bins.
- Cleans and polishes tabletops, furniture, fixtures, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
- Services, cleans, and resupplies restrooms and breakrooms.
- Cleans interior windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Keeps janitor closets neat and orderly.
- Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
- Provides special cleaning and support during client events, as needed.
- Notifies management concerning the need for maintenance repairs as needed.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
- Knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures (SDS, OSHA).
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
- Ability to work an alternative schedule to include weekends and some holidays.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Some Physical/Special requirements include:
- Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach and wrist movement.
- Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
- Regularly lift up to 30 lbs.
- Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
- Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color coded microfiber cleaning clothes and mops.
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
