- Tuesday- Saturday
- 8:00am- 4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of interior and exterior facility maintenance, minor construction, and custodial procedures.
- Ability to work well alone, with a partner, and/or as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Attention to detail.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Cleaning all school premises including, but not limited to, offices, classrooms, corridors, walls, floors, windows, furniture, woodwork, toilets, lavatories, and fixtures by washing, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, sweeping, polishing, dusting, and/or vacuum cleaning.
- Performing snow removal using shovels, snowblowers, and sanders.
- De-icing sidewalks, ramps, steps, parking lots, and driveways, as needed.
- Performing general grounds maintenance work, mowing, edging, raking, and weeding.
- Clearing sidewalks, parking lots, driveways, and other assigned areas of leaves, dirt, mud, and other debris, as needed.
- Maintaining athletic fields and preparing them for events.
- Operating, maintaining, and performing light repairs to equipment used in the care of the grounds.
- Driving a school vehicle to perform essential functions of the position.
- Monitoring campus for necessary grounds maintenance work.
- Moving and arranging furniture and equipment for meetings and special events.
- Performing minor repairs, as needed, and reporting other necessary repairs and replacements to the Supervisor of Custodians.
- Keeping all public areas clean and neat.
- Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles and properly disposing of rubbish.
- Using and storing equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies in accordance with all applicable safety and sanitation standards.
- Participating in job-related training, as directed by the Supervisor of Custodians.
- Following workplace safety standards, policies, and procedures to minimize job-related injuries.
- Maintain routine records, such as work orders, in accordance with department practices and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Work Classification: Essential Employee, i.e., required to report to work during an emergency or when the school is closed to ensure the continued operation of essential functions.
Environmental Conditions:
- Indoor/outdoor environment subject to changing conditions, inclement weather, and extremes in temperature.
- Exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, oil/grease, odors, heights, and noise.
- Working on ladders and from heights.
- Exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals such as disinfectants, floor stripper, floor wax, propane, paint thinner, etc.
- Direct contact with the public, students, and district staff.
- Working with or around machinery with moving parts.
- Possible contact with bloodborne pathogens and/or bodily fluids.
Physical Requirements: The successful must complete a pre-employment physical that demonstrates his or her ability to perform Medium/Heavy work, including:
- Standing and/or walking for six (6) or more hours per workday.
- Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing from 25 to over 100 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Kneeling, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching overhead frequently throughout the workday.
- Using arms, hands, and fingers to operate, push, and/or pull hand tools, power tools, and a variety of custodial and grounds equipment.
- Visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodations, necessary to safely and efficiently perform the essential functions of the position, including the operation of moving vehicles, grounds and custodial equipment, and tools.
- Climbing ladders and working from heights, as necessary.
