Position Definition:
Perform daily activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Essential Duties:
- Collect all linen from outside collection bins as needed; fold, stack and distribute clean laundry materials to residents and departments daily.
- Distribute 1 full cart (Minimum) of personal clothes per shift.
- Clean, wash, sanitize and disinfect all laundry items and areas including floors, walls, ceilings, equipment, etc. using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions.
- Ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
- Ensure that work areas are free of all hazardous objects and that all equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored at all times.
- Ensure that established Universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices and procedures are maintained and followed when performing laundry duties.
- Promptly report any and all hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor and/or Administrator.
- Participate in departmental projects and studies as needed.
- Assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as requested.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
