SCOPE:
Perform functions to clean and keep in an orderly condition working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office or other establishment; and contribute to the mission of Goodwill by maximizing the opportunities for participants with disabilities and other barriers to become more independent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Uses appropriate supplies to thoroughly clean assigned areas as scheduled or instructed, including but not limited to: floors, bathrooms, woodwork, windows, walls, screen and fixtures.
2. Sweeps, mops or scrubs and polishes floors.
3. Removes chips, trash and other refuse.
4. Dusts equipment, furniture or fixtures; polishes metal fixtures or trimmings
5. Provides supplies and minor maintenance services.
6. Ensure actions and words communicate superior internal and external customer service.
7. Performs or assists with any assignments as required or directed.
OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Demonstrate by words and actions a commitment to the Goodwill mission to help people with disabilities and other barriers to become self-sufficient, working members of the community.
2. Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies.
3. Follow safety rules, ensure safe operating conditions are followed within area of responsibility, wear required personal protective equipment and clothing, and keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Prior janitorial experience preferred
2. Ability to read and understand product labels written in English
3. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and the ability to be insured under the company’s vehicle insurance policy
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to push heavy equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor stripping equipment, carpet care machinery, water buckets, etc.
2. Repetitive pushing, pulling, stretching, reaching, kneeling stooping and bending for long periods of time
3. Prolonged periods of standing and walking
4. Ability to lift and carry in excess of 20 lbs.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Use hand tools, pressure washer, floor machines, cleaning chemicals, brooms, vacuum, mops, hose, waste containers, rolling waste receptacle, waste container liners, cleaning materials, and other standard equipment and required personal protective equipment and clothing.
