Facilities Maintenance Assistant/Custodian
Position Classification: Employee; Hourly Part-Time, Non-exempt
Days/Hours: Monday-Friday/32 hours per week
Reporting Location: The Kingdom Church – All Campuses
Salary Range: $15- $18/hour
Overall Responsibilities
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant/Custodian works to assist the Facilities Director in maintaining and/or improving all existing structures (Interior and exterior), tools and equipment. Assist by making sure that all buildings and grounds are neat, clean, free from clutter and safe. Assistance with property security making sure doors and windows are properly secured. The assistant is responsible for making sure that all buildings and their services function properly and are maintained for maximum life expectancy. Tasks required include completing minor building maintenance and repairs, cleaning, and groundskeeping using the best business practices available to manage resources, vendors, services, and processes.
LIST OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Report to Facilities Director for daily/weekly assignments
Install/repair drywall. Tape and texture
Prime and paint using paint sprayers, rollers and cut in brush work
Keep vehicles and all other tools and equipment in clean and running order
Clean and maintain cleanliness and order in storage areas.
Report equipment malfunctions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor
Performs routine inspections of fire extinguishers
Empty and clean trash receptacles as requested
Assist director in giving access to vendors and fellow employees
Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to supervisor
Water any live plants as needed
Ensure assigned areas are properly opened daily, and fully secured upon completion of daily tasks, i.e., locking doors and windows, turning off electrical units.
Ensure grounds are clean and orderly. Pick up and dispose of any loose garbage, debris, cigarette butts, drinking bottles, cans, etc.
Perform custodial tasks: washing windows/glass/mirrors interior and exterior; dusting vents and wiping down dirty walls
Initiate and submit purchasing requests to replenish low inventory as directed
Fabricate and or move furniture/Install decor items on walls
Respond to minor repair requests quickly and with a professional manner, for such activities as cleaning interior and exterior debris, non-toxic spills, and disposal of damaged furnishings and equipment
Follow up and provide access and oversight to repair service vendors
Assist in the set up and tear down for scheduled events including but not limited to chairs, folding tables, linens, A/V equipment
Performs tasks in general facility maintenance, i.e., changing lights and or bulbs, and other minor electrical repair or replacements
Assist with coordinating and monitoring activities of contract suppliers
Keep the building functional, attractive, and well-maintained
Provide minor plumbing repair such as: Fix sink drains, replace toilets, replace faucets, etc.
Perform other minor repairs, including but not limited to door and door hardware, masonry patchwork.
Attend weekly update meetings with direct supervisor, the Facilities Director, and provide project status reports.
Assist with checking completed work by contractors and vendors
Assist with surplus furniture setup, relocation, and disposal
Advise on and monitor environmental health and safety processes and equipment
Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures
Provide prompt response to maintenance requests and issues from Lessee(s)
Ensure maintenance delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met
Maintain electronic file storage of user and maintenance manuals for office furniture, fixtures, and equipment within Dropbox®

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Trade certification (preferred)
- Must have minimum of 5 years work experience in construction, maintenance, and/or facility operations
- Must have the following tools available for use: hammer, screwdrivers, drill
- Have a valid driver license
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks
- Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
Benefit Conditions:
- Full-Time employees are eligible for benefits after 90 days.
