At Inneos, we develop and manufacture VCSEL-based components and subsystems for medical, military, aerospace, and commercial OEMs, as well as finished products for consumers. Our products are often used as high-definition video interconnects in operating rooms, security systems, flight control, conference rooms, and our fastest-growing segment, home theaters. But our products are also used in datacom, sensing, and automation applications. We are a small but growing company with operations in Pleasanton, CA, and our own semiconductor design and fabrication facility in Zephyr Cove, NV, located just off the shoreline of Lake Tahoe.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Wafer Fab Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for the full cycle fabrication process and working under immediate supervision. Technicians are responsible for loading and unloading the wafer equipment, setting and adjusting key process variables, and maintaining the equipment. You will also monitor the machines for proper operation and engage in quality control testing. You will work in a team environment, can multi-task, and exhibit a strong work ethic.
Job Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating production equipment; loading and unloading product wafers using tweezer and other hand tools.
- Perform process inspection using optical microscopes and other characterization tools.
- Data entry and documentation, both written and computer entry, of process steps
- Using computers for processing of product
- Transporting wafer and processing materials throughout the Clean Room
- Maintaining a safe work environment, which includes housekeeping, labeling and proper disposal of waste
- Following all environmental protection, safety, and health procedures, reporting accidents and spills promptly, and making recommendations to improve safe work practices
- Cleaning the work area and complying with Clean Room work rules
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience with wafer fabrication equipment and processing
- Demonstrated good hand dexterity for wafer handling, and hand work under a microscope.
- Distinguish all colors such as red vs. green and see flashing alarms
- Respond immediately to machine alarms
- Basic personal computer and keyboarding skills for the accurate input of data
- Basic computer experience including MS Excel
- The ability to read and follow written procedures
- Follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to all safety requirements
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs and ramps
- Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 pounds
- Must be legally authorized to work full time in the US without sponsorship
- Must be available to begin working full time within 2 weeks of acceptance
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic ability to work in a team in a fast paced work environment under deadlines
- Basic ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions to carry out simple procedural changes and redline current standard operating procedure

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for extensive computer use, reading and visual inspections, and assembly or processing under a microscope.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to or working directly with lasers that emit visible or invisible laser beams. While most often the exposure level is Class 1M, occasionally the employee may be working on or near Class 3B laser products
In addition, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The position is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals and oils. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
