Field Technician – Routing Department

CRDN of Michigan and Northwest Ohio is looking for a Field Technician to join our positive, exciting, and diverse Field Inventory Team. This position requires a positive attitude and a willingness to provide world class service to customers dealing with painful losses. Under the direction of a Lead Field Inventory Specialist and the Routing Department, the Field Inventory Specialist will be visiting clients’ homes and businesses. This will involve the direct handling, cleaning, inventory, and packaging of business, personal and sentimental items. This will also require thoroughness, finesse, and the ability to document specific details and safely package and secure each item.
The Field Technician will be trained on utilizing a company issued tablet and other tools necessary to complete a detailed and accurate pack out. This will include handling all items with great care, cleaning items, taking multiple pictures, documenting details, and the safe and secure packaging of all specified contents. This position will also require attention to detail and the ability to understand daily assigned schedules.
This position will be based out of our Oak Park location, and all Field Technician will receive daily field assignments from the Routing Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Able to apply critical thinking and work well in a team-based environment.
- Be detailed-oriented, organized, technologically literate, efficient, and empathetic to customer needs.
- Act as a primary customer contact when management is unavailable.
- Review details of assigned job by checking the scope, reading notes, watching videos, planning, and be logistically prepared.
- Meet with insured, adjusters, contractors, etc., and represent the company with world class professionalism.
- Prepare the property prior to beginning the inventory process.
- Ensure all items are inventoried, multiple photos are documented and safely secure and package all items.
- Coordinate with pick-up team to ensure all details and updates are provided.
- Manage and coordinate with onsite cleaning teams, inventory services, maid services (reconnection of electronics, rehanging of artwork, etc.), and provide direction to specialist teams when needed.
- Accurately inventory all items utilizing tablet and tag/bar code all inventoried items.
- Disconnect and package all cables, remotes, and ancillary equipment and keep with proper equipment.
- Map and label location of items and how they are to be reconnected.
- Document all details relating to any damaged items.
- Ensure all RUSH items are identified, tagged, and submitted as priority.
- Complete all required documentation and job status updates.
- Document all utilized supplies and the reason for using.
- Maintain all assigned company vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure all company vehicles are equipped with the necessary tools and supplies.
- Ensure all items are properly cleaned prior to packaging.
- Ensure Team Members take all necessary precautions to avoid damaging customer property.
- Perform final walk-through to ensure all water, gas and electrical lines have been capped and all items have been tagged/bar coded and no tools or other work-related supplies are left at the worksite.
- Ensure that the worksite is left clean upon departure.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience in restoration content pack outs (Preferred).
- A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Able to work Monday-Friday 8-10 hours daily with occasional weekends during peak seasons.
- Located in the Metropolitan Detroit Area.
- Able to clear a background check.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Work authorization.
