Signature Biologics is a biopharmaceutical company developing novel cellular and biologics therapeutics for unmet clinical needs. We have significant clinical experience working with human perinatal biologics internationally and we are currently developing the products in US.
Position Overview: As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, processing, and management of materials essential for the manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of material handling, inventory management, and supporting the Supply Chain and Manufacturing department in maintaining efficient inventory systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Preparation and Processing:
- Timely selection and accurate picking of materials required for the manufacturing process, ensuring readiness for production activities.
- Conduct decontamination procedures as required for consumable bill of material bins and cleaning materials to maintain cleanliness and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Process materials according to established protocols and procedures while adhering to Quality standards.
2. Inventory Management:
- Conduct inventory transactions in Netsuite, accurately updating inventory levels and ensuring data integrity. This includes conducting Work Order and Inventory Adjustment transactions.
- Follows First Expired, First Out (FEFO) method for materials to maintain product integrity and minimize waste.
- Monitor inventory levels of consumables and cleaning materials by maintaining Kanban and visual inventory systems to optimize purchasing and inventory control.
- Plays a key role in periodic inventory cycle count and assists Finance/Accounting with compiling all data and ensuring accuracy.
3. Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless material flow while meeting production deadlines.
- Provide support to the Supply Chain department in various tasks related to inventory management, procurement, and/or logistics.
- Work closely with Quality department stakeholders to ensure timely communication to release approved materials for use in manufacturing processes.
4. Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to material handling and inventory management.
- Practice Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to ensure accurate and complete documentation of all material handling activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines at all times, including following all OSHA standards.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a biopharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software, such as Netsuite, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Commitment to upholding quality standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Be available for work from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m., for a total of 40 hours a week completed Monday- Friday or including weekend days (except company acknowledged holiday's) when required.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
