Bayside High School is looking for a dedicated employee to work as a Head Custodian. This Head Custodian position provides services to maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment at high school in Palm Bay.
This position is full-time, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week) for 12-months and it is eligible for benefits.
Based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees:
Grade 20 $17.03 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required, or special diploma required
- Certification through the BPS ‘Certified-Custodian’ or the BPS ‘Master-Custodian’ training program within one year of employment
- Demonstrate general knowledge of maintenance equipment used on job
- Valid National or State recognized custodial and/or building sanitation trade certification is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- This is heavy, manual work in routine housekeeping; domestic tasks and grounds work in and around schools and other buildings.
- Employees do manual work involving a variety of housekeeping and gardening tasks under relatively close supervision.
- Instructions from supervisors are specific in nature and work is subject to close inspection during progress and upon completion.
- Employees must be physically able to maintain a heavy work schedule over the normal workday.
- Where employees do not work under close supervision, work follows a well-established routine.
- This position’s primary responsibility is for buildings, grounds and equipment. Knowledge of chemicals and how to use them properly.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
