SUMMARY:
The Janitor performs routine and prescribed duties to clean and maintain orderly office and work areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work from written and verbal instructions to sweep, mop, vacuum, wash and dust building areas, offices, restrooms, and shop departments. Remove debris and waste to proper areas.
- Wash and clean restrooms with replacement of paper supplies.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of janitorial materials and supplies.
- Clean tables, chairs, desks, walls, windows, floors, ceilings, fixtures, and outside areas.
- Wash, scrub and wax floors.
- Polish furniture, remove stains or spills, and vacuum carpets.
- Move furniture and office equipment as needed.
- Report unusual conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.
- Use mops, brooms, vacuum cleaner, hand cart and other cleaning implements.
- Discard of all trash in appropriate dumpsters.
- Assist in operating floor scrubber for shop floor.
- Write and submit janitorial records, reports and forms required by company procedures.
- Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.
- Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
- Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
At a minimum each individual must be trained on the following work instructions:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
