Responsible for performing all routine and specialized cleaning and sanitizing in the Compounding department in compliance with cGMPs and according to SOPs.
Major Tasks:
- Ensure totes and valves are properly cleaned and sanitized per SOPs, cGMPs, and are inspection ready.
- Cleaning and Sanitizing is done on time and startup deadlines are met.
- Maintains the up keep of the totes, valves, cleaning, and sanitizing equipment.
- Able to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures for cleaning and sanitizing totes and valves.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
- Understand and can explain SOPs to auditors if necessary.
- Complete and maintain daily cleaning and sanitizing logs and documentation.
- Responsible for reporting unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Responsible for ensuring cleaning and sanitizing supplies are available.
- Report any safety and quality related issues to management immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to properly use hand and power tools; operate forklift and pallet jacks, understand and use basic maintenance manuals; and ability to assemble and disassemble pumps and valves.
- Must be able to read and understand a variety of job related instructions and documents.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach, and move equipment and machinery weighing up to 65 lbs. in order to clean, sanitize, and maintain processing equipment.
- Ability to operate cleaning and sanitizing equipment
- PC skills and good decision making capability
- Must have the manual dexterity to manipulate and assemble small objects and pieces of machinery and maintain and repair equipment. Have the ability to utilize courtesy and tact in interactions with department and Company personnel in the exchange of information and resolution of problems.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and move for an 8 hour shift. Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).
