JOB DESCRIPTION – CLEANING TECHNICIAN (Day)

The cleaning team is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the premisses. Each cleaner will be responsible for an area and will be expected to clean to the frequency and standard set out. At the direction of the QC & Operations Coordinator, cleaning staff will clean other areas as required. The QC & Operations Coordinator will delegate and monitor the cleaning to ensure that high standards of cleanliness are reached and maintained. From time to time, the QC & Operations Coordinator or Principals also will carry out spot checks on any aspect of cleanliness he feels is appropriate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. This job requires Eye-Hand-Foot Coordination: The ability to move the hand and foot coordinately in response to visual stimuli.
Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

- Stand for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Able to communicate clearly, understand and follow instructions.
- Experience in undertaking general cleaning duties.
- Meet necessary health and physical qualifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cleans and maintains all areas of the facility, including, but not limited to, classrooms, offices, library, public spaces, restrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, auditoriums, gymnasiums, kitchens, hallways, etc.
Cleans assigned areas using cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops, scrubbers, dusters, carpet strippers, floor polishers, trash cans, window sills, windowsills, walls, ceiling vents, etc.
Some of the required tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare all carts and supplies on closets for your station.
- Distribute supplies throughout the client’s buildings.
- Organize supplies closets.
- Clean stairs.
- Empty trash and recycling and change liners.
- Unlock doors/turn on lights.
- Clean entry doors interior and exterior.
- Wipe down all glass doors.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs.
- Dry mop.
- Dust and High dust.
- Clean knobs and doors.
- Clean countertops, small appliances, and related surfaces (microwave).
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors.
- Clean windows.
- Sweep and wash bathroom floors.
- Clean/Wash/Disinfect toilets.
- Clean/Wash/Disinfect sinks.
- Clean/Wash/Disinfect mirrors.
- Clean trash cans and trash cans lids.
- Clean elevators (Clean Handles and Buttons, Doors on both sides, Vacuum, and mop floors).
- Spot Clean Walls, doors, and trash/recycle bins.
- Clean all air vents and light fixtures.
- Wipe down the tops and handles of each kegerator.
- Check cleanliness at all points.
- Empty trash barrels for food or liquid; rinse out if needed. Recycle company takes away recycled trash.
- Clean walls in garbage areas.
- Wipe down whiteboards in conference rooms
- Collect, wash, dry, and put the dishes away.
- Empty the dishwasher, utility cart, and sink before leaving.
- Check that dishes and silverware are evenly distributed throughout each kitchen.
- Receive and distribute lunch on clients’ buildings. Dismantle lunch and put away leftovers and clean kitchen tables and push-in chairs.
- Take out any overflowing trash cans post company lunch(2 dumpsters, Cardboard only, and regular trash).
- Take any overflow of recycling down to the mailroom for the recycling company to pick up.
- Refill consumables (Soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, masks, conference room supplies, cafeteria consumables, etc). Inform in advance of the lack of consumables.
- Maintain the kitchen consumable inventory updated: Receive the consumables the moment they arrive and distribute them in the Storage, Distribute consumables between the two buildings, Check the amount of consumables in the Storage when requested, and Inform in advance of the lack of consumables.
- Clean the perimeter of the building and trash/debris.
- Clean tables/organize tables/chairs on the balcony (spring, summer, fall).
- Organize and maintain the cleaning equipment, always clean and ready to use.
- Report cleaning supplies quantities.
- Check all doors and windows before leaving the building.
- Verify and help coworkers in their areas.
- Take pictures of issues and cleaning areas if requested.
- Report all non-functioning dispensers, toilets, water closets, and sinks
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
