Production Manager

Job Description: Overview:
This is a new position in our company. The Plant Manager is responsible for managing the plants daily operation, including the hiring, development, and performance management of all the production employees. In addition, they oversee inventory and ordering of supplies, optimize profits, and ensure that customers are satisfied with their experience. The Plant Manager will be responsible for hiring and managing all routes.
Responsibilities: The job will be based out of Wayzata and production is M-F starting at 6:00 a.m. and until production is done. Occasional weekends may be needed. Routes run 4 days a week. We are fully staffed in production and the Plant Manager should be able to dry clean, spot clothing, press all articles of clothing and run the wet cleaning machines and dryers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire day-to-day production operations of Wayzata Home Laundry. Monitor adherence to company standards on production, quality and safety.
- Hire, train, discipline, evaluate, and schedule employees for proper production staffing numbers.
- Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints when needed.
- Observe progress of work and hire new employees to maintain production.
- Work with vendors to order materials and equipment as needed.
- Assist or fill in for staff when necessary to perform laundry, drycleaning, pressing, assembly tasks, and route delivery.
- Oversee and manage all areas of the plant and enforce sanitary practices, general cleanliness, and the maintenance of equipment.
- Inspect physical condition of laundry and dry cleaning machines and equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, repair, or seek replacement as appropriate.
- Record daily, weekly, and monthly manifests for the boiler, and other designated equipment.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to speak and communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
- This position includes medium work, lifting up to 75 pounds, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Twist, turn, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequently in performing responsibilities.
- Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions, to communicate with customers, staff, and others in the community.
- Detail-oriented, organized and applies effective time management skills in order to meet all deadlines. Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and numerous projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Able to perform HR-related functions including hiring and selection, orienting and training, managing performance, disciplinary action and recommending the termination of employees. Able to understand, administer, and comply with HR policies and organizational behavior standards.
- Valid Class D Minnesota driver’s license.
- Computer knowledge and keyboard skills.
- Knowledge of fabrics, dyes, solvents and cleaning solutions.
- Must be able to pass background screening and drug tests.
Education/Training/Experience:
- Three or more years' management experience in a dry cleaning plant or store.
- High School or equivalent.
- Must have a current Minnesota 2nd Class Boiler Engineer or Special Engineer license from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
- Must be able to dry clean, pre-spot clothing, press all articles of clothing, and run the wet cleaning machines and dryers.
- Ability to communicate with Spanish speaking employees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
