JOB TITLE: CUSTODIAN
LOCATION: BOCA RATON, FL
STATUS: PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT / NON-EXEMPT
PAY RATE: $9.00 / HR.
Job Summary:
The custodian will be responsible for cleaning retail locations. The custodian must follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules and should have the required skills and abilities to perform defined service tasks.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows and completes a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning schedule. These duties include:
- Collect all garbage and/or recyclables from the assigned locations and place them in the correct disposal dumpster
- Disinfects and cleans garbage cans and changes liners daily
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and fixtures daily with germicidal solution
- Wet mops all washable floors as specified in the schedule, including restrooms, stairwells, elevators, office areas, and storage areas
- Cleans glass and/or windows (inside and outside) when required
- Cleans office areas and building entrances and walls using designated cleaning solutions as scheduled or needed
- Vacuum all carpeted areas as specified in the schedule
- Sweeps and clears entrance areas
- Dust-mops corridors
- Dust, clean, and sanitize other surfaces as specified in the schedule
- Performs other cleaning duties as specified in the schedule
- Refills paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap in all dispensers
- Fills out and maintains housekeeping log according to schedule
- Participates in emergency drills and environmental safety activities, as requested
- Attends and participates in worksite safety and in-service training
- Performs other duties as assigned
Reports the following to the Supervisor or designated staff person:
- Need for cleaning supplies or equipment repair in advance
- Water leaks and other maintenance needs
- All other health and safety hazards noticed
Desired Experience/Education:
- Experience in the custodial field
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to comply and pass a background check as required by the contract
- Must be able to move through the worksite physically
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying and pushing
- Wearing protective equipment, such as latex gloves, per OSHA regulations is required.d
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
