The Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a General Cleaning Technician #694. This position performs environmental services support, including variety of cleaning tasks such as, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning carpets, setting fireplaces, moving furniture, conducting trash removal and cleaning and maintaining equipment, in addition to occasionally setting up rooms for events in the Senate wing of the U.S. Capitol building. These tasks are accomplished both individually and as a team depending on the general direction of a Team Leader. This is highly sensitive work requiring superior etiquette and professionalism. The role requires interaction with Senate offices, as well as several supporting departments. Work is performed overnight, typically from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
