Equipped with an array of tools and supplies meticulously selected for each task, you'll embark on a daily mission to ensure every corner of our manufacturing areas, office spaces, and leased premises radiates with cleanliness and orderliness. But your duties extend beyond the visible surfaces. You're entrusted with the vital task of emptying and sanitizing wastebaskets, trash containers, and other receptacles, thereby not only maintaining cleanliness but also upholding sanitation standards essential for a healthy work environment. The replacement of light bulbs and the restocking of restroom dispensers may seem mundane, but they are integral components of ensuring that our facilities function seamlessly, day in and day out.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Responsible for ensuring all trash is promptly removed from staff office areas on a regular basis, maintaining a clean and clutter-free environment.
- Taking written inventory of supplies and general cleaning supplies and consumables, ensuring that adequate stock levels are maintained at all times.
- Communicating any observed facility needs to management, such as repairs, maintenance, or safety concerns, to facilitate timely resolution.
- Performing regular walk-throughs of exterior building staging areas to remove debris and other trash as directed by supervisors, ensuring a tidy and hazard-free environment.
- Vacuuming and mopping floors as necessary in bathrooms, offices, and production areas, maintaining cleanliness and minimizing slip hazards.
- Safeguarding a high hygienic standard by sanitizing all bathrooms, sinks, toilets, and urinals, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for all employees.
- Spot cleaning messes in employee kitchens as necessary, promoting a hygienic and pleasant dining experience for staff members.
- Progressive cleaning of sections of buildings as necessary, including tasks such as washing walls and painting, to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment.
- Wiping down workstation work surfaces and floor mats, promoting cleanliness and preventing the spread of germs.
- Conducting regular building inspections for light bulb replacement or broken fixtures, promptly notifying supervisors when repairs or maintenance are required to ensure a safe and functional workplace.
- Advising supervisors when it is time to re-order cleaning supplies, chemicals, trash liners, and toilet paper, ensuring uninterrupted availability of essential items.
- Responsible for securing hazardous materials, ensuring appropriate use of cleaning machinery, putting up signs for wet floors, and locking and unlocking buildings daily, promoting a safe and secure working environment for all.
- Performing outdoor maintenance tasks such as sweeping sidewalks, removing leaves, and picking up litter to ensure the exterior areas of the facility are clean and presentable.
- Periodically cleaning interior and exterior windows to maintain visibility and enhance the overall appearance of the facility.
- Providing additional cleaning support during company events, meetings, or special occasions to ensure the venue remains clean and orderly throughout the event.
- Acting as a first responder in emergency situations such as spills, leaks, or accidents, promptly addressing hazards and coordinating with appropriate personnel as needed.
- Assisting with the receiving and inspection of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other deliveries to ensure accuracy and proper storage.
- Participating in training sessions on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Providing friendly and courteous assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors, addressing inquiries and requests in a professional manner.
- Maintaining accurate records of cleaning activities, equipment maintenance, and supply usage, and preparing reports for management as needed.
- Execute various tasks, as assigned by your manager, supervisor, or company officer, whether within your standard duties or as requested beyond regular responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High School diploma or GED.
Work Experience
- 6 months - 1 year in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment preferred.
Skills
- Effective prioritization and organization skills to complete tasks efficiently within designated timeframes.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods during cleaning duties without constant supervision.
- Knowledge of proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Clear and effective communication with supervisors, coworkers, and other staff members to coordinate tasks and address concerns.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing cleaning priorities or unexpected situations as they arise.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other janitorial staff or members of different departments to maintain overall cleanliness and functionality of the facility.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and pressure washers.
- Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cleaning equipment or facility maintenance.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and promote a healthy work environment.
- Understanding of environmentally friendly cleaning practices and the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure cleaning tasks are completed according to schedule and without disruption to operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.
- Continuous standing and/or walking.
- Moderate physical effort - working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights.
- Good eye/hand/foot coordination and good visual acuity.
- Ability to work in a cold, hot, and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime, including some weekends based on janitorial demands.
