Job Title: Warehouse Technician
Department: Production
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor/Manager
FLSA Status: Regular- Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for tracking company inventory and reporting any shortages. Responsible for processing orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.). Coordinate by contacting carrier and scheduling shipping for all packages. Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and process material orders on a daily basis, including accepting deliveries, labeling them and distributing packages and letters internally.
- Coordinate deliveries to customers and clients on a daily basis, including boxing goods, addressing packages, and staying in contact with shipping companies.
- Maintain the company stockroom by cleaning, organizing, and labeling items in storage on a regular basis.
- Keep records of goods that have been shipped and received, preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for supervisor.
- Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by boxing and lifting items as necessary and operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large items.
- Schedule large shipments and coordinate logistics to ensure that there is enough storage space for incoming items and personnel on hand to manage incoming shipments.
- Perform customer service duties as necessary, maintaining good relationships with shipping companies and clients who are receiving goods.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Thorough understanding of state and local medical marijuana laws and how they apply to the operations. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management and ability to multi-task successfully.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
- Must have a deep understanding of mechanics and functions to maintain a climate control system.
- SAS experience a plus.
- Must have availability for weekend shift(s) and on-call.
- High School Diploma or GED graduate.
- Florida Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age (or 18 years of age in CT, PA and WV).
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
- Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater).
- Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).
Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
