Summary/Objective
Blending Technician is responsible for the blending of products according to the individual work order specifications following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safety procedures. Individuals must maintain a safe and pleasant manner while ensuring the department meets its goal of blending as many work orders per day as possible, with maximum safety, quality and accuracy. The position involves weighing, blending, mixing, packaging and transporting both liquid and dry chemicals in the production of our products.
Essential Functions
The essential functions of this position include but may not be limited to those listed below. Sunny Delight Beverage retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
1. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.
2. Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage's policies and procedures.
3. Maintains a high level of sterile awareness.
4. Set-up and operate all blending equipment to meet the Manufacturing Order (MO) instructions per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
5. Manage the inspection, unloading, and storage of inbound materials.
6. Process work orders efficiently and accurately per the Manufacturing Order (MO) instructions and the daily production schedule.
7. Create production batch samples of completed blends to facilitate Quality Assurance testing requirements.
8. Add ingredients to the chosen blender and process per production orders.
9. Calculate quantities. Weigh, verify, document and complete batches.
10. Blend various juices using mixers, pumps, pipes, hoses, flow meters, tanks.
11. Blend various water blends using minerals, salts and other equipment.
12. Pack product on pallets and secure for shipping.
13. Properly disassemble & reassemble equipment for cleaning following all safety guidelines.
14. Understand all part numbers, lot numbers, and product descriptions as they relate to the Manufacturing Order (MO).
15. Learn and practice Lean Manufacturing to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
16. Update and maintain all required logs and paperwork within the department (i.e.: equipment use, cleaning logs, Manufacturing Order (MO), etc.) accurately.
17. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure efficiency, employee safety, and product integrity.
18. Maintain accurate inventory records.
19. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
o Must have 2 or more years' experience in a GMP production environment.
o Must read, write and speak English
o Must have intermediate math skills.
o Excellent attention to detail.
o Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office.
