Position Summary:
The Housekeeper/Floor Tech is responsible for keeping the buildings at The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch (GPR) and their contents clean, sanitary and orderly.
Responsibilities:
1. Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
2. Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
3. Follows established Universal Precautions when performing housekeeping procedures.
4. Cleans, washes, sanitizes, and polishes bathroom fixtures.
5. Cleans windows and mirrors.
6. Cleans floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp or wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
7. Uses proper safety signs when performing floor work.
8. Cleans carpet, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
9. Cleans walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, or deodorizing.
10. Removes dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning solutions.
11. Cleans hallways, stairways, and elevators.
12. Discards waste and trash into proper containers and relines trash receptacles with plastic liners.
13. Reports all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Building Services Director.
14. Reports all unusual Member activity, which might affect the safety or security of other Members, to the Assistant Manager of Housekeeping and Laundry Services.
15. Assures that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
16. Reports burned out light bulbs and exit lights to the Assistant Manager of Housekeeping and Laundry Services.
17. Follows assigned work and cleaning schedule as closely as practical.
18. Maintains an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies on assigned cleaning cart.
19. Changes bed linen and exchanges bathroom towels.
20. Cleans drinking fountains, and public areas.
21. If assigned to the Health Center, coordinates daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in common living and/or recreational areas.
22. Understands and follows all regulatory and company policies.
23. Maintains confidentiality of members’ PHI (Protected Health Information).
24. Other various duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1. Must have at least an 8th grade education. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Experience in proper floor maintenance and operation of equipment preferred.
3. Must be able to read and understand printed instructions.
4. Must be able to communicate effectively with Members and staff.
5. Must be able to operate machinery needed to perform various tasks.
6. Highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
7. Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills.
8. Must be empathetic, enthusiastic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
9. Must be well organized and can work with limited direction, take initiative, and can plan and carry out responsibilities, organizing own schedule and duties to complete responsibilities.
