DoubleTree Novi/Detroit is looking for new team members in our housekeeping department! We have a great culture and core team of people who work well together and provide an excellent guest experience. The duties and job description is as follows:
1. **Cleaning Rooms: Cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to hotel standards. This involves dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, changing linens, and replenishing amenities.
2. **Laundry Duties: Washing, drying, folding, and ironing linens and towels. Ensuring that laundry procedures are followed properly, including sorting items by color and fabric type.
3. **Stocking Supplies: Replenishing guest room supplies such as toiletries, towels, and linens. Keeping track of inventory levels and informing management when supplies need to be ordered.
4. **Inspecting Rooms: Conducting thorough inspections of guest rooms to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards. Reporting any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate department.
5. **Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service to guests by addressing any requests or concerns promptly and professionally. Being courteous and helpful at all times.
6. **Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. This includes using cleaning chemicals properly, handling equipment safely, and following emergency protocols.
7. **Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other housekeeping staff and departments to ensure efficient operation of the hotel. Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
8. **Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to detail to ensure that all rooms are cleaned to the highest standards. Checking for cleanliness, neatness, and proper presentation of guest rooms.
9. **Time Management: Managing time effectively to complete cleaning tasks within allotted timeframes. Prioritizing tasks based on urgency and workload.
10. **Flexibility: Being flexible with work schedules and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hotel's needs.
11. **Physical Stamina: Possessing the physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods. Housekeeping can be physically demanding, so being in good physical condition is important.
12. **Adherence to Policies: Following all hotel policies and procedures, including those related to cleanliness, safety, and guest privacy. Maintaining confidentiality regarding guest information and personal belongings.
