Job Summary
Completing cleaning of garages and parking lots as assigned.
- Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture. Washes sinks, and other plumbing fixtures. Replaces disposables such as paper towels, soap and toilet paper. Collects and transports refuse, cleans and relines containers with plastic bags as required. Cleans tops of windows, doorframes and other high places, using ladders when necessary. Handles cleaning supplies and chemical substances.
- Vacuums, cleans sweeps, mops, waxes, scrubs, burnishes and polishes floors, fixtures and surfaces. Operates all types of floor cleaning equipment such as but not limited to floor stripping, waxing and polishing, carpet shampooing and extraction, as well as spot removal. Cleans any other item as deemed necessary and as
- Keeps adjoining patios, courtyards, breezeways, walkways, balconies, staircases in and around buildings of parking garages including stairwells, elevators and general floor areas clean and free of litter. Keeps outside building area within 10 feet of the building clean and free of all litter. Removal of cobwebs, cleaning of signs and fire extinguisher cabinets, and lights in parking garages. Places and removes signs on all floors when elevators are out of order.
- Maintains and cleans assigned custodial closet. Properly disposes of soiled mops, trash, rags, pads and other cleaning supplies. Stores and organizes all supplies and shelves. Operates motor vehicles in the performance of the position's essential functions. Reports any maintenance issues to the appropriate channels. Maintains elevator interiors and polishes walls and floors as needed.
- Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
- Maintains clean floor machines, vacuum cleaners, wet-dry vacuum, automatic scrubbing equipment, wringers, dollies, and floor signs after use. Operates machinery as required by manager.

- Completion of the ninth (9th) grade.
