About Marker 48 Brewing

Marker 48 Brewing was established in 2015 as the first full production brewery in Hernando County. After almost 9 years of growth, it is now operated as a 15-barrel brewhouse that is on par to produce 3,000 barrels this year. Marker 48 Brewing has also added a wine/ cider license as well as a distillery license over the last few years.

Position: Brewer/ Cellarman

Marker 48 is looking to expand its team by hiring a brewer/ cellarman for our production facility and taproom located in Brooksville. This would be a full-time position with varying hours. Seeking a passionate and professional individual who is self-motivated and experienced in all aspects of brewing. Responsibilities to include:

• Understand and operate our grist mill and all aspects of raw material handling

• Understand and operate 15-bbl brewhouse

• Understand and handle yeast management including pitching, harvesting and propagation of yeast

• Understand all aspects of fermentation process including temperatures and time

• Complete knowledge and understanding of all aspects of cellaring operations from carbonation, transferring, packaging and draft system cleaning and maintenance

• Work in collaboration with the head brewer, owners, tap room manager and sales manager to assure production stays up to par and on schedule

• Understand and handle different aspects of cellaring

• Assisting in inventory and handling of raw materials needed for brewing operations

• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work space

• Assist with recipe development

• Assist with canning line operations

• Assist with regular equipment maintenance and help troubleshoot issues when they arise

• Safely operate a forklift

• Safely operate and use a scissor lift

Qualifications must include experience with commercial brewing and cellaring, communication and teamwork skills, willingness to work well with the brew team, taproom and sales teams as well as owners, ability to be flexible with hours, availability for occasional weekend and after hours events, desire to learn and stay educated on new and improved methods and ingredients in the industry, This is a physically demanding job, must be able to lift/ carry heavy items, work in a fast paced environment, operate in extreme temperatures including heat and cold, work with extremely dangerous and caustic materials, ability to work in a standing position for long hours daily.

Compensation for this position will be based on commercial brewing/ cellaring experience. Benefits include vacation and paid holidays, allowance for sick/ accident insurance coverage, flexible and family first work environment and major discounts on beer, spirits and merch.
