Position Status: Part-time to Full-time as the business grows

General Hours of Work: Hours may vary depending on the residents’ needs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for growing a customer base for the Housekeeping Department in a retirement community. Works well and shows respect for residents as well as other employees. This position handles the cleaning needed for the upkeep of residential homes and includes the ability to handle general cleaning tasks such as sweeping mopping, dusting, and polishing. Candidate should be able to lift 25 pounds and have an eye for cleanliness. Position will start off as part time and turn to full time as a customer base is gained. (Already have a waiting list.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors

· Vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies

· Shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery

· Dust and polish furniture and fittings

· Clean metal fixtures and fittings

· Empty and clean trash containers

· Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner

· Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers

· Wipe down glass surfaces

· Make up beds and change linens as required

· Tidy up rooms

· Wash windows as scheduled

· Sort, wash, load and unload laundry

· Sort, fold and put away clean laundry as requested

· Operate mechanized cleaning equipment

· Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition

· Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

· Must be a United States Citizen or eligible to work in the United States.

· Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

· Must successfully pass a background check, and alcohol and drug test.

· Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.

· Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

· Excellent work history and attendance record preferred. Must be available for on-call shifts.

· Ability to communicate orally and in writing, ability to perform basic math is mandatory

· Work independently while understanding the necessity of communicating

· Coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

· Positive attitude and enthusiasm for the job. Strong customer service ethic required.

· Ability to accomplish work which requires physical stamina. Ability to stand and use

equipment for extended periods of time.

· Ability to work outside in various weather conditions; Ability to work a flexible schedule

including weekends and some evenings.

· Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work cooperatively

coworkers, residents, guests and general public.

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; Ability to communicate effectively.

· Knowledge of occupational safety rules and practices.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
