Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Intake Associate is responsible for ensuring that donations dropped off to the store are acceptable, cleaned, sorted, repaired and/or repurposed for resale and put on the sales floor. The Intake Associate oversees the overall operations of donations. The Intake Associate is responsible for accepting, processing, and facilitates the flow of merchandise to and from the sales floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand ReStore’s mission, existing policies and procedures related to acceptable merchandise.
Ensure that donated items are clean, repaired, repurposed, or disposed of as required by Restore policies and procedures.
Work with the ReStore Supervisor to establish a smooth flow of merchandise to the sales floor for the warehouse and showroom.
Assists in removing sold items from the sales floor to Sold & Hold or pick up area.

· Responsible for the testing of appliances.

· Responsible for the research of retail prices of items and following pricing guidelines.

· Load and unload all donated materials.

· Screen for product usability when donors bring in donations.

· Maintain organization of donation receipts and donor’s zip codes.

· Make minor repairs, test, process, and clean donated materials.

· Communicating with ReStore Truck Associate regarding incoming donations.

· Work, support, and organize volunteers in the Donation Center while making their experience meaningful.

· Maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore management, staff, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and ReStore donors and customers.

· Operating ThriftCart software and Point of Sale register.

· Operate box truck lift gates, forklift, pallet jack, and hand carts.

· Daily cleaning and straightening of the Intake areas, keeping them neat and clean.

· Other duties as assigned by ReStore Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

· Strong interpersonal and communications skills, internally and externally, with groups and individuals having a variety of personalities and backgrounds.

· Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and technical skills.

· Ability to maintain confidential information with high ethical standards.

· Able to adapt to and excel in a demanding environment.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
