Summary

The Bel-Air Bay Club was established in 1928 and is a Distinguished Club of the World. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Houseman to join our team at the Lower Club on the beach. The ideal Houseman will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility, focusing on the proper procedure of storage of operating supplies, constant walk-throughs of space to ensure standards and venue set-up are done according to each BEO as contracted. This position is responsible for the set-up and breakdown of all events.

Essential functions:

Maintain a safe, secure and healthy facility by following and enforcing sanitation standards.
Maintain an organized, clean heart of the house and all storage areas.
Accountable for all banquet, Club event and special event room set up, including tables, chairs, silverware and glassware.
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Clubs inner and outer areas including parking lots, planters, windows, carpets and floors.
Put away all food and beverage deliveries in accordance with the “first-in-first-out” method.
Ensure that all personnel follows company procedures and breakage polices.
Conduct inventories for china, silver, and glassware, when needed.
Responsible for proper maintenance, washing and cleaning of food and beverage equipment.
Organization of furniture/equipment storage in all banquet storage areas.
Setup rooms according to floor plans.
Break down rooms as directed.
Polish silverware and glassware and set dining room tables according to banquet event orders.
Assist client with any and all needs prior to the start of their event.
Position duties may include any other tasks as deemed necessary by managers in order to fulfill the obligations of the Club.

Qualifications:

· High level of responsibility and professionalism.

· Excellent team player.

· Excellent listener with execution skills.

· Strong oral communication skills in English, Spanish a plus.

· AV set up experience.

· Positive attitude.

· Strong interpersonal skills (people skills).

· Food hygiene and food regulation knowledge is preferred.

· Must be willing to be practically involved and lead by example.

· Must be able to interpret BEO's and diagrams accurately.

Work Hours

This position is an hourly, non-exempt position, working a scheduled week according to demand, including weekends and holidays. Part-time schedule will be 3-4 days a week regularly Wednesday - Sunday. Working Holidays, weekends and seasonal demands may be required.

LC Banquet Service Manager and Food & Beverage Management Team

Physical demands and work environment:

Able to sit and stand and walk for long hours, bending, lifting and reaching over.
Ability to use hands, fingers, handles or feels objects, tools or controls.
Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talks and hear.
Occasionally lift and or move up to 60 lbs.
Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Satisfactory auditory abilities are required.

Environmental Factors:

The employee is exposed to working indoors and outdoors around normal, high and cold temperatures with normal noise levels.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 28 per week
