ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Congregation Kol Tikvah is a Reform Jewish Synagogue with typical house of worship and religious school operations as well as a vibrant Early Childhood Center (children 1-1/2 - 5 years old).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking two or more motivated and committed individuals with a strong work ethic, custodial and janitorial experience to oversee the overall care and cleaning of our building. Must speak English; is authorized to work in the US and is able to pass a background check, which includes clearance and fingerprinting for working in a school with very small children.

Normal Work Hours:

Monday - Friday - 7:30am - 3:00pm and 1:00pm - 9:00pm

Saturday - 8am - noon, or later as needed

Sunday - 8am - noon, or later as needed

DUTIES INCLUDED:

· Participate in routine and special cleaning of all areas within the synagogue, including offices, sanctuary, classrooms, kitchen, restrooms and their fixtures. Operate custodial equipment and maintenance tools and use non-toxic cleaning products.

· Empty trash as needed throughout the day.

· Walk property to remove trash as needed.

· Set up and break down classrooms, event rooms, etc. - frequently moving tables, chairs, event equipment, etc.

* Stock paper products daily

· Additional duties as assigned.

· Willing to learn additional tasks

Physical Requirements:

● Stand and walk for extended periods of time

● Reach and extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

● Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation

● Bend, stoop and kneel to grasp objects and climb ladders

● Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat

● Lift and move heavy loads (50+ lbs) and carts

● Good distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

● Hear well enough to perform essential functions of the job

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $16.00 per hour, up to $18 per hour

Experience:

Office or School maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
