Scope of Work:

Janitor is responsible for keeping offices, buildings and facilities in clean and orderly condition. Duties may include performing unscheduled activities, notifying management of the need for servicing and additional cleaning.

Responsibilities:

Perform periodic cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass and removing rubbish.
Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
Gathers and empties trash to include trashcans in the proximity of exterior main entrances.
Services, supplies and cleans restrooms.
Cleans and polishes furniture and drinking fountain fixtures.
Dusting of office furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
Mixes water and detergents in containers according to product specifications to prevent damage to floors, fixtures or furniture.
Drives vehicle for travel across facility to various buildings.
May have to move equipment and supplies either manually or by using a hand truck.
Informs lead and/or manager of need of any major equipment for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

One (1) year of related janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
Possess and demonstrate a courteous and positive attitude toward customers.
Ability to follow basic operating instructions (policies and procedures)
Demonstrated aptitude for successful completions of assigned tasks.
Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and bend down or stoop frequently
Must have ability to maintain assigned work hours.
Must have endurance to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds or more on a regular basis.
Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes.
Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
