Reports to (Position): Janitorial Supervisor

Job Summary: The Janitor is responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of aseptic cleaning standards for the medical clinic.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Uphold the Coresivity Core Values and Mission Statement

· Maintain a professional image and attitude at all times, observing the policies and procedures of Coresivity when conducting business with medical center staff, veterans, caregivers, and all related parties

· Be familiar and remain up to date with all OSHA and related agency guidelines to ensure 100% compliance with all regulations

· Be aware of and report all safety hazards, property damage, and needed repairs to Janitorial Supervisor and medical clinic staff

· Ensure completion of all daily cleaning duties and follow-up with Janitorial Supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Job duties will include:

· Cleaning medical clinic ensure cleanliness, sanitation, customer satisfaction and contract compliance.

· Ability to respond to requests from medical center staff and veterans for various custodial and special clean-up services.

· Ability to demonstrate proper cleaning procedures and proper use of environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals and equipment.

· Monitoring usage of janitorial cleaning and equipment supplies, reporting status to janitorial supervisor, and requesting resupply of items before they run out.

· Daily tasks:

o Clean and disinfect restrooms using EPA recommended cleaner

§ Completely clean and disinfect all surfaces

§ Scrub all toilets and urinals and surrounding areas

o Clean and disinfect exam rooms using EPA recommended cleaner

§ Completely clean and disinfect all surfaces

o Mop Restroom Floors

o Sweep, dust mop, and damp mop all floors (except carpeted floors)

o Clean baseboards, corners, and wall / floor edges

o Move chairs, trash receptacles, and other lightly moveable items to maintain floors under those items

o Take out all trash and replace trash can liners

o Clean interior glass / mirrors

o Clean and disinfect drinking fountains

o Clean stairway (dust and sweep)

o Vacuum carpets

o Spot clean carpets as needed

o Vacuum and clean floor mats

o Dusting – wipe down all horizontal surfaces except desks where VA employees are obviously working (Do not move papers)

o Wipe down all waiting room chairs with disinfectant

o Stock restroom supplies

· Periodic tasks:

o Strip/Wax Floors

We also require:

· Strong communication skills (both oral and written) in English (Spanish is a plus);

· Knows how to use orbital buffer

· Knows how to strip/wax floors

· Familiar with 2 bucket mopping

· Good understand of inventory management

· Detail oriented and organized

· Valid driver license and own vehicle

The following skills are also helpful: knowledge of cleaning supplies and chemicals; experience with pressure washing and floor care and carpet extraction.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Customer service experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, reach overhead and climb stairs. May require standing for long periods of time. May be required to lift up to 10-15 lbs on a regular basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is performed indoors in a medical clinic setting. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
