JOB OVERVIEW

Six Mile, LLC (SML) is seeking a part-time General Cleaner to join our team! This position keeps buildings in clean and orderly condition, performs basic cleaning requirements, trash and solid waste removal, insect and rodent control, snow removal, carpet cleaning, and cafeteria/break area cleaning. The rate of pay is $21.50 per hour and includes paid vacation, sick leave, personal leave, and holidays.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Performs routine cleaning
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Clean windows, glass, partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Maintains safety
- Adherence to all safety procedures and use of proper PPE.
- Adhere to all Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and applicable state and local environmental, health and safety rules and regulations.
Performs incidental tasks related to the position as well as various duties, as assigned, to support the overall objectives/goals of the team while maintaining a positive attitude.

ABOUT YOU

High School diploma or GED.
Minimum one (1) year janitorial experience.
Must have the ability to carry heavy objects of up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push, pull, stoop, bend or stand for long periods of time.
Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

SML is an Alaska Native-Owned Village Corporation serving its more than 2,000 Native shareholders and four villages located along the Yukon River. Alaska Native Corporations are the result of the passage of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, which was signed into law in 1971. The act was intended to resolve long-standing issues surrounding aboriginal land claims, to stimulate economic development throughout Alaska, as well as to settle land and financial claims.
