Overview:

Housekeeping Supervisor
Well established year-round 60 unit hotel & spa located in beautiful Napa Valley, is seeking a loyal, dependable, self-directed, organized, and customer service driven individual for this Full Time Housekeeping Manager position.

This is a family owned and operated company for over 40 years. We have a core staff who have worked together for a number of years and maintain a professional but family-like culture. This position reports directly to the owners but interacts with all departments and shares a sense of accomplishment in achieving our mission.

Responsibilities include:

Responsibility for the cleanliness of all areas of the hotel. Ensure all areas of property are clean, and neat in appearance.
Daily supervision of the housekeeping staff, including pre-arrival inspection of rooms
Oversee cleaning of guest rooms, lobby, exterior areas near rooms, public restrooms, patio areas and BBQ area.
Operations management, including technical knowledge in regard to cleaning practices, cleaning supplies and equipment, including chemistry as it pertains to cleaning agents and compounds.
Laundry management for both in-house laundry as well as with the contract off-site laundry service.
Inventory control for linens, amenities, all items related to guest rooms, cleaning supplies, attic stock, uniform supply.
Labor management, including recruiting, training and retaining staff, scheduling, and solving day to day personnel problems.
Leadership skills including interdepartmental communication skills. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to create a satisfying work environment and a successful department.
Good interdepartmental working relationship with maintenance, front office, and spa.
Safety and security, including requirements by workers compensation as well as federal and state codes. Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within Housekeeping department. This also includes lost and found guest items, as well as procedures to prevent theft.
Guest relations- ensure guest satisfaction throughout areas that pertain to housekeeping requests.
Daily interaction with property management system, and utilization of advanced housekeeping portions of the system.

Required knowledge/skills/job qualifications:

Prior experience managing a team of housekeeping employees as either a supervisor or assistant supervisor- minimum of 3 years
Proven experience supervising housekeeping departments of 8-12+ employees
Ability to anticipate customer needs and provide exceptional service as an entire housekeeping team
Must be fluent in Spanish and English, both verbal and written
Proficiency with general office PC applications, property management systems, and working knowledge of rooms management systems.
Self-motivated to accomplish goals with a strong sense of responsibility
Demonstrated sound organizational skills, leadership management skills, communication skills
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
Must be flexible with working weekends, holidays.
